Fernando Forestieri wowed fans as he inspired Sheffield Wednesday to a win over Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.
The Italian scored what proved to be the winner with a scrappy poacher's goal early in the second half.
His effort came minutes after Lucas Joao had scored the opener, before Tom Thorpe netted a consolation in injury time for the hosts.
More than 2,500 Wednesday supporters made the trip to watch their side record a win, and saw the summer signing put in one of his best games since joining the club.
The Owls beat off interest from rivals Leeds United to his signature, and the versatile 25-year-old now has three goals in seven appearances.
This was his most well rounded display yet. He had five attempts on goal with three on target, an energetic presence throughout.
He touched the ball 62 times, more than any Wednesday player barring Barry Banna (63), a rarity for a forward player.
As well as creating two goalscoring chances for his teammates, Forestieri recorded seven tackles, the highest of any of his teammates, also winning two interceptions.
His performance helped lift Wednesday into ninth, and even having played a game more than the rest of the division barring Rotherham, they are four points clear of 10th placed QPR, and presently one point off the play-off spots.
Joao might have got the goal, but it was Forestieri that made things happen. These two are great signings. #SWFC— Joe Crann (@YesWeCrann) October 23, 2015
