West Ham United appear to be keeping on top of the transfer market, even whilst the window is currently shut.
The Hammers were linked with Stephan El Shaarawy earlier today in something of a sensational deal. In a potentially less incredible but more realistic move they are said to be keeping tabs on Croatian under-21 international defender Antonio Milic.
The 21-year-old has been in great form for KV Oostende in Belgium this season and it is reported by Voetbal Nieuws that West Ham are keeping an eye on his performances.
West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is a Croatian compatriot of the young star and will obviously hope that can help him in any pursuit of the player.
He would likely be an affordable addition, although he would not come cheap. He only joined the Belgian outfit from Hajduk Split in January and is contracted with the club until 2018.
He would certainly be an exciting buy for the season but as things stand it is believed that West Ham are simply scouting the player to see if he is indeed a suitable option for the Premier League.
