Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour suggested on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning that Derby County can get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
“I am sure they will be there and thereabouts," said Parlour. "They have got good form at the moment. I watched them against Wolves at the weekend, and they were superb.
"They have an excellent squad, good young players as well. They have got a good blend of experience and youngsters, which you have got to have if you want to get back up."
Derby are one of the strongest teams in the Championship and have been in great form in recent weeks.
Paul Clement’s side are seventh in the league table at the moment with 21 points from 12 matches, level on points with sixth-place Middlesbrough.
The Rams are only three points behind second-place Birmingham City and seven points behind leaders Brighton & Hove Albion.
Derby can definitely finish in the top two of the Championship this season and get automatic promotion to the Premier League.
It will not be easy, though, and the Rams will have to be consistent and pick up as many points as possible on the road.
The Championship is a hugely competitive league, and the Derby players will have to be on top of their game all the time.
