Klopp has so far overseen two draws - a 0-0 stalemate at White Hart Lane last Saturday afternoon and a 1-1 draw against 10-man Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday night. But Sunday will be the German's first league game in charge at Anfield.
Southampton won't be the easiest of opponents, of course, and Klopp will know all too well his Liverpool side must improve if they are to entertain the Kop and give them any hope of a win.
The Reds boss seems adamant Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke will provide him with the extra options in the final third to do that and they were busy trying to impress both their manager and the club's owners at Melwood on Friday.
Brazilian Firmino, a £29 million arrival over the summer - as reported by BBC Sport, has been disappointing so far this season. Benteke, too, a £32.5m signing from Aston Villa - as reported by Sky Sports, has been hit and miss.
Here they both were, though, looking to kick on in Liverpool training...
