Paul Clement delivers Derby County fitness update: Good and bad news

Derby County are set to welcome Jake Buxton and Craig Bryson back into their first-team fold in the near future.

Paul Clement has confirmed on Derby County's official Twitter account that Craig Bryson and Jake Buxton will step-up their respective comebacks from injury next week.

Bryson and Buxton have been on the sidelines for the bulk of the campaign so far, but they are edging closer to full fitness.

The pair are set to play some part for Derby's under-21 team next week, but Clement was unable to deliver purely good news at his press conference.

The Rams boss also stated that Simon Dawkins is set for a spell on the sidelines, after he picked up an adductor problem.

The return of Bryson and Buxton to Derby's team will increase the competition for places even further at the iPro Stadium.

The Rams already have one of the biggest squads in the Championship, but Clement will be pleased to have two experienced players back in the fold.

Buxton and Bryson have played key roles for Derby in the past, and they will be hoping to win their places back in the team soon after they return to full fitness.
