Michael Owen predicts West Ham v Chelsea

Michael Owen looks ahead to Saturday’s Premier League game between West Ham United and Chelsea.

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that West Ham United will lose to Chelsea at home this weekend.

The Hammers will take on their London rivals at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and former Liverpool star Owen has predicted an away win.

“It is almost three years since West Ham scored a goal against the Champions and with United and City going head-to-head at Old Trafford on Sunday this could be a pivotal weekend in the title race,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.

“The Blues have kept clean sheets in their last two games and will need to be at their best against a talented Hammers’ side led by the excellent Dimitri Payet who has created more goalscoring opportunities (39) than any other PL player so far this season.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Chelsea to win at 19/20”.

Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?

West Ham are in great form at the moment, while Chelsea appear to be on their way up after struggling for much of the season.

The Hammers are currently fourth in the Premier League table, while the Blues are down in 12th.

West Ham do not have a great record at home, but manager Slaven Bilic will certainly want to sort that our sooner rather than later.

The first goal will be key. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho knows how to win a game 1-0, and he will take a narrow victory against London rivals West Ham at the Boleyn Ground.
