Ian Wright suggests James Milner will be important for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp

James Milner joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window on a free.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has suggested to The Sun that James Milner will be an important player for Liverpool under new manager Jurgen Klopp.

“He has got a certain amount of ability," former Arsenal striker Wright told The Sun. "He is a model professional, he has got great engine, he has got everything that no manager would not dislike.

"He does his job. Any manager, no matter what your style is, you know you need a player like that.”

Milner joined Liverpool in the summer transfer window on a free after leaving Premier League rivals Manchester City at the end of the 2014-15 season.

The England international midfielder is not a very technically gifted player, but he is one of the hardest working footballers in the Premier League.

The former Leeds United and Aston Villa star is also versatile, having the ability to play down the middle of midfield or out on the right.

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is well known for improving players and developing them, and he could do the same with Milner.

The 29-year-old former Newcastle United midfielder is hungry for playing time, and he is certainly going to give his all in order to establish himself as an important member of Klopp’s team.

Milner has scored one goal and created 20 chances in nine Premier League appearances for Liverpool so far this season.

The Englishman has a pass accuracy of 80% and a shot accuracy of 55%, and has won 10 headers, five dribbles and 16 tackles.
