Football coordinator leaves Nottingham Forest post

City Ground

HITC Sport understands that Leon Hunter has resigned from his position at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest's football coordinator Leon Hunter has resigned from his role at the club, HITC Sport understands.

Hunter only took up a position at the City Ground in March.

He had spent the three years prior to that working as head of recruitment at Stevenage.

It has been a rough ride for the Reds, though, since his arrival, with a disappointing end to the 2014/15 campaign followed by a slow opening to the current season.

Forest have also found themselves working under the restrictions of a transfer embargo, having breached Financial Fair Play rules.

They have worked hard to bring in a number of players on loan agreements, but not all of those drafted in can be considered success stories.

Hunter will play no part in events heading forward, which will likely include further reinforcement of the playing staff, with his career now taking him in a different direction.

Forest sit 16th in the Championship standings at present, three points above the drop zone and without a win in five.
