The Celtic faithful largely appear to be backing the 32-year-old.
The experienced midfielder let rip on Thursday night after being substituted during the Bhoys' 3-1 defeat at Molde in the Europa League, launching a verbal tirade towards assistant manager John Collins and likely boss Ronny Deila too.
But Commons moved to apologise for his actions on Friday.
Celtic supporters, however, appear to be siding with the 32-year-old. Indeed, the vast majority of responses to the news on Twitter backed Commons and actually demanded an apology from head coach Deila instead.
In truth, Deila wasn't the only man targeted. Chief executive Peter Lawwell was also called upon by many to apologise for 'downsizing' the Celtic squad, while Collins was blamed by many, as well.
Fans are generally appalled that the Bhoys squad and coaching staff delivered such a below-par display when paying fans traveled to Norway to witness it. Even those watching at home would have been left frustrated to the core after another European capitulation.
