Wellington Silva could be out of action until end of year with hamstring injury

The Bolton Wanderers star, on loan from Arsenal, is out until the end of December.

Arsenal loanee Wellington Silva has been impressing at Bolton Wanderers this season. Mercurial he may be, but on his day the Brazilian is something else. He has scored one goal in his nine appearances for the struggling club but unfortunately it looks like injury has struck the player.

The winger is set to miss at least 10 weeks of action after suffering a severe tear to his hamstring. It is a real setback to the 22-year-old who would have been hoping to help The Trotters out of their Championship struggles.

Arsenal were not in action today but plenty of their young talents, past and present, were. Benik Afobe, Havard Nordtveit and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas all found the back of net.

Wellington Silva, one player currently still with the club, also found the net.

The Brazilian was signed by Arsenal in 2011 from Fluminense but has not yet made his first-team debut for the club as he has struggled to get a work permit. Instead he has spent his time in Spain, with loan spells at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria.

The Brazilian youth international has already impressed at Bolton and now his injury looks like ruling him out until nearly 2015.
