Florin Gardos has confirmed that he will make his comeback to Southampton's first-team ranks in January.
The Romanian defender has missed the entire 2015/16 campaign to date with a knee injury, but is determined to bounce back from his problems a stronger player.
Gardos has promised that 2016 will be his year, and he is looking forward to making his return to competitive action.
Good news. I hope 2016 will be The Gardos Year. January is the month for comeback! I dream about that moment almost every night! #saintsfc— Florin Gardoș (@floringardos5) October 21, 2015
Gardos' return to Southampton will be welcomed by the supporters, as he showed signed of promise during his first season at St. Mary's.
The 26-year-old was generally used as backup, but when given time on the pitch he usually impressed, and he clearly has the ability to play in the Premier League.
Breaking back into Southampton's team could be difficult, though, as they have strengthened their defensive unit in his absence.
Ronald Koeman signed Virgil van Dijk from Celtic during the summer transfer window, meaning that Gardos faces a fight if he is to see regular action once he is off the treatment table.
