Pandit Is Not A Bandit

BNP Paribas has named Frederic Janbon to head up asset management, returning the former chief of fixed-income operations to a leadership role after a stint as special adviser.

Bloomberg News reports that Janbon assumed his new role Tuesday, BNP said in a statement. He replaces Philippe Marchessaux, who ran BNP Paribas Investment Partners for six years, overseeing the integration of ABN Amro and Fortis fund-management teams.

In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that NerdWallet said former Citigroup banker Simon Williams is joining the consumer finance startup advised by Vikram Pandit, swelling the ranks of senior financiers helping the company.

Williams, former CEO at Citibank’s retail banking unit and ex-group head of wealth management at HSBC, has been elected to join the company’s board of directors, according to a statement Wednesday.

Finally, Bloomberg News reports that Jeff Holman, the former chief risk officer of JPMorgan’s hedge-fund business, Highbridge Capital Management, is heading to artificial-intelligence startup Sentient Technologies.

Holman will become Sentient’s chief investment officer, overseeing its trading and investment arm, the company announced Wednesday in a statement.
