The Special One has been lampooned in a new video inspired by the Nintendo favourite and featuring plenty of familiar faces.
It’s been a tough week for Jose Mourinho - held to a disappointing draw by Dynamo Kiev, caught on camera reportedly shoving a young Chelsea fan and now the star of a new animated Super Mario spoof.
Created by YouTubers R4Six as the third offering in an ongoing series, the video, entitled “Soccer Mario World 3”, features plenty of familiar faces from the world of football, with each one the target of some fine spoofing.
Neymar is portrayed as a play-actor, ultimately taken down by Juan Zuniga in a perfect parody of their World Cup 2014 set-to.
Arda Turan is locked away by FIFA while James Rodriguez’s chances of completing the level are seemingly scuppered by a combination of Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao.
Then Mourinho takes centre stage, defeating both Manuel Pellegrini and a centipede-like Arsene Wenger before dodging one almighty bullet from Sergio Ramos and Pep Guardiola.
The Special One is ultimately taken down, however, by old foe Rafa Benitez, who appears out of a flower pot to bite the Portuguese coach in half before Eva Cameiro arrives on the scene to offer little to no assistance to her former colleague.
A highly inventive and fun offering on Mourinho, the video is unlikely to help the Chelsea boss in his current plight but it might just make him laugh.
