John Hartson reacts on Twitter to Carlton Cole's Celtic move

The former Bhoys striker has explained how he feels about the free transfer.

John Hartson has taken to Twitter after news broke that Celtic have finally signed Carlton Cole on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old has earned a 'fantastic' move to Parkhead, according to Hartson, who also wished the Bhoys luck ahead of their Europa League clash at Molde.

On Cole's abilities playing up front, meanwhile, Hartson explained in the above Kicca video: "Carlton is a big physical presence and has plenty of Premier League experience so good luck to him."

After several months of waiting to make a decision, the fact one has been made is very welcome indeed for Celtic.

The opportunity cost is also minimal considering the fact Cole's contract is not too lengthy, as well as the fact the 32-year-old joins the Bhoys on a free.

In terms of strength in depth, Cole will no doubt prove a useful addition for Celtic (useful could become valuable if he does well).

Fans may be underwhelmed by the quality available to the Hoops when you look at the standard of Cole's predecessors - Hartson alone was in a different class. But, looking at what was available, there is no reason the former Premier League forward can't become a successful signing for Ronny Deila's men.
