The former England international is currently on loan at Coventry City.
The former England international and two-time Premier League winner was not getting any football at Villa Park so decided to switch things up and head to the Ricoh Arena on a 35-day loan deal.
Coventry, who of course have Premier League heritage, are currently in League One and a player the calibre of Cole moving down to the third-tier of English football has certainly caught the eye.
But does he have a future at Villa.
He was asked that very question by the Coventry Telegraph this week and his answer suggested he was unsure if his Villa Park days were numbered - instead he is focusing on Coventry:
“I’ve not given it that much thought.
“I’m not ruling anything in and I’m not ruling anything out. I’m just building up my fitness and trying to give as much as I can to this team while I’m here."
Cole was once an integral member of both the Chelsea and England teams in the past decade but ever since a move to Liverpool in 2010.
Since then he has battled with poor form and injury trouble and at 33 is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding his football career.
He has not played for Villa since the League Cup win against Notts County in August and he is way down the pecking order under Tim Sherwood.
