George Thorne offers insight into Derby County dressing room discussions after Blackburn draw

Derby County drew 0-0 with Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening.

Derby County midfielder George Thorne has told the club's official website that nobody was too disappointed after they were only able to take a point against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Derby played out a 0-0 draw at Ewood Park, which ended their run of three straight victories.

However, Thorne says that the discussions in the dressing room after the match were largely positive, as the Rams' main objective in the fixture was to avoid defeat.

“We said in the changing room after the game that it was important to just not lose the game," he said.

“Ewood Park is a tough place to come to, we came up against a physical style of play and at times it was difficult to play against."

Derby were far short of their best against Blackburn in midweek, but they will be pleased to have extended their unbeaten run.

Paul Clement's side have now avoided defeat in their last seven games, and they have started to climb up the Championship table at a rapid rate.

Derby have moved into seventh place in the second tier standings, and they appear to be clicking into gear under Clement's guidance.

The Rams' next fixture comes against Huddersfield Town at the weekend, and a win could put them into the automatic promotion spots.
