Manchester United secured a 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow on Wednesday.
The Red Devils pulled back a one-goal deficit to draw 1-1 with CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening.
It was an important result for United given their standing in their Champions League group, and Louis van Gall will be pleased with the draw, in what was a hard-fought game.
After going one-goal down to a Seydou Doumbia strike - after David De Gea saved a penalty - Anthony Martial continued his hot streak in front of goal with a perfectly placed header to tie the game.
It was not a memorable performance by any means, but a draw was an acceptable result, and two of United’s players sent messages to the fans following the game.
Goalkeeper De Gea, who pulled off a selection of top class saves during the fixture, sent a message looking forward to the Manchester derby this weekend, whilst Chris Smalling praised the United support who travelled to Russia to watch their team play.
United now look forward to returning to Premier League action this weekend, with the Red Devils taking on local rivals Manchester City, in what is a battle not just for pride, but also likely for Premier League top spot at the end of this weekend.
