Celtic have a new striker so what do Bhoys fans think about it?
On Thursday Celtic confirmed on their official website that Carlton Cole had signed a deal that will see him represent the Bhoys until the summer of 2017.
The former West Ham United forward had been training with Ronny Deila’s side for some time and now the free agent has been rewarded for his effort with a deal that runs for both this season and next.
Cole is still only 32 and if he remains fit he will be a very interesting option for Celtic, although his goal record in England is not exactly worth writing home about.
To date, Cole has scored 80 goals in 381 matches but that does not mean he will not prove to be a handy asset for the current Scottish champions.
Celtic are currently relying on Leigh Griffiths and Nadir Ciftci for their goals and the duo have netted 14 times between them (with 12 of those coming from the Scotland international).
Ciftci only recently returned from a long-term suspension which played a significant part in his start to life at Celtic, but now Cole will be hoping to shake things up a bit.
Following the news we took to Twitter to see what Celtic fans thought of Cole’s signing and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Carlton Cole could be a great signing but he needs game time & not like Scepovic sitting on the bench all the time— Barry Fulton (@barryfulton) October 22, 2015

Carlton Cole? Proof again of no transfer strategy at Celtic. Utter nonsense and a great boost to the strikers before a big game.— Robert Wilson (@rjlwilson7) October 22, 2015
Carlton Cole or Callum McGregor ? Big Carlton doesn't sound too bad, when we look at it closely— Holy Sea (@DM8883) October 22, 2015
Money on Carlton Cole to score a minimum of ten goals this season on odds 600 . #bookiebashing— ChristianH (@ChristianH1984) October 22, 2015
Carlton Cole is a good signing- cheap so theres no real risk, offers a new dimension up top with his height and provides well needed cover— Ryan (@ryanigallagher1) October 22, 2015
Good to see Carlton Cole is seemingly okay with spending the next two years watching Izaguirre's crosses sail over his heid— Ross Connell (@RosskoC) October 22, 2015
Carlton Cole is a good signing IMO. Completely different type of striker to what we have. Means deila will always have a plan b— CraigMacDougall (@WinkyMacDougall) October 22, 2015
