Tottenham's secret weapon? Davies highlights importance of Spurs' Belgian players

Ben Davies claims Tottenham's Belgian players will help Spurs against Anderlecht.

Tottenham full back Ben Davies has told the club's official Twitter account that the Belgian players at the club can help against Anderlecht.

Spurs head in to Thursday's game against Anderlecht having beaten Qarabag and drawn with Monaco in the Europa League so far, and now head to Belgium in search of more points.

It's been a great start to the season for Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs, with just one Premier League defeat to their name, and now it's a European challenge facing Tottenham.

Ahead of the clash, left back Ben Davies has highlighted what could be a secret weapon for Tottenham - the fact that they have a number of Belgian players in their squad.

Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are all in and around the squad even if they may be rested, whilst Nacer Chadli will miss out through injury.

All of those Belgian players will have a good idea of what to expect on and off the pitch as Spurs travel to Brussels, and they can pass on words of advice to their team-mates.

It may be seen as something minor, but if Spurs are to reach the latter stages of the competition, then small details like how Alderweireld, Dembele and Vertonghen will have knowledge of Belgium - on and off the pitch - will help Pochettino's men.
