Sheffield Wednesday defender Liam Palmer sends message to Modou Sougou on Twitter

Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday's Modou Sougou picked up a nasty looking injury during their match with Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening.

Liam Palmer has sent a message to Modou Sougou on social media site Twitter, after the Sheffield Wednesday winger was stretchered off during their 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

Sougou was the victim of a robust challenge from QPR defender Clint Hill during the contest, and the tackle left him in a lot of pain.

It is unknown what the extent of the summer signing's injury is, but Palmer was clearly concerned for his teammate after the contest.

The tackle on Sougou actually wasn't given as a foul, and Wednesday supporters were left aggravated by the decision to let Hill walk away unpunished.

The game itself was not a particularly entertaining one, with both sides struggling to create chances throughout.

Wednesday's best opening fell to Lucas Joao, but when he was upended inside the box, referee Andy Haines ignored their claims for a penalty and the contest ultimately petered out to a scoreless draw.

The result leaves Wednesday unbeaten in their last seven fixtures in all competitions, and they now occupy ninth spot in the Championship table.
