Considering some of the young talent at Liverpool's disposal.
Liverpool take on Russian side Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday and considering their position in the group, and the fact that it is Jurgen Klopp’s first home game in charge, the Reds are likely to play a strong side from the outset.
But that does not mean some of Liverpool’s next generation will not get a place in the match-day squad and here we consider three Reds youngsters who deserve a spot on the bench later this week:
Despite being Liverpool’s under-21 captain, Cameron Brannagan was not selected to play in their most recent match at that level, instead training with the first-team.
Given that the 19-year-old has been on the bench against both Bordeuax and FC Sion, expect the talented teenager to make it a hat-trick of sorts this week.
With Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge not yet ready to return, 19-year-old Jerome Sinclair could again be on the bench and if he gets his chance he has the talent to make the difference late on.
It may well come to that if Rubin’s defence holds firm, and of the three players on this list he could be the most likely to feature if the game if not going Liverpool’s way with time running out.
Much is made of Liverpool’s exciting group of attacking players coming through the ranks right now, but a lot less is said about their defenders.
Connor Randall was named on the bench for Liverpool’s recent match against Tottenham and there is a good chance he will again find himself in the match-day squad.
Considering his talent the right-back is definitely one to watch.
