Paterson praised Eric Lichaj after he scored his first goal for the club.

Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj broke his goal drought for the club and was commended by on loan teammate Jamie Paterson.

Lichaj had opened the scoring against Burnley in the second half of their clash at the City Ground, only to see the Clarets come back to net a late equaliser.

Paterson is on loan at Huddersfield Town and came off their bench to feature in their 2-0 victory over MK Dons last night.

He responded after both games had finished to show his admiration for Lichaj upon finding out he had scored, whose delight at finally netting was evident to see from his celebration.

The American had missed Forest's previous game through suspension, and his return proved vital, yet Forest have slipped to 15th place having gone five games without a win.

They have now slipped behind Paterson's Huddersfield, who as a result of their win have gone one point above Forest and are in 13th, with a marginally better goal difference.
