Huddersfield beat MK Dons 2-0, and Paterson rounded off the triumph by scoring his first goal for the club late on, after coming on as a substitute.
At the moment the winger is on a season-long loan with the Yorkshire club, but already Terriers fans have expressed a desire for the move to be made permanent.
So far Paterson has made four appearances for Huddersfield, but he is yet to establish his position in Chris Powell's starting line-up.
However, his goal should strengthen his claim for regular starts and if he can find his best form, then he will be a very dangerous player for Huddersfield.
Forest fans were largely disappointed when Paterson was allowed to leave on a temporary basis, as they saw the damage he could do in the 2013/14 season.
However, under Dougie Freedman the tricky winger has fallen out of favour, and Huddersfield fans are now hoping that they can strike a more permanent deal for Paterson.
Here is the best reaction on Twitter after the winger netted his first goal for the club on Tuesday night.
