Former Arsenal midfielder suggests Arsene Wenger got it wrong against Bayern Munich

The Gunners won 2-0 but the former Arsenal midfielder felt that Olivier Giroud should have started.

Arsenal picked up a vital win in the Champions League last night against Bayern Munich. They took on the German champions in a must win game in their European campaign.

The Gunners have lost their opening two matches in their Champions League season so far against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos - two games that Arsenal fans expected them to win.

But despite the heroics of Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer it was an uncharacteristic mistake from the German international that gifted them the first goal courtesy of Olivier Giroud.

Mesut Ozil then secured all three points in the final minute after a stunning piece of play from right-back Hector Bellerin.

Giroud has been in great form off the bench recently and this latest finish was highly important.

But as far as one former Arsenal man was concerned the Frenchman should have started. Shortly after Giroud had grabbed the first goal of the game the Ghanaian midfielder, who now plays for Russian outfit FC Ufa, tweeted this message:

He felt that Giroud should have started the game ahead of Theo Walcott and, consequently, also suggested that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should have started the game as well after coming on for an injured Aaron Ramsey in the 57th minute.
