Talking to the Derby Telegraph, Paul Clement remarked that his players will need to be at their best to keep Rhodes off the scoresheet and their concentration levels will have to be high in order to neutralise his threat.
"They have got an in-form striker in Jordan Rhodes,’’ said Clement. "He is a big threat and we are going to have to defend very well against him. Maximum concentration is required.
"Blackburn play a direct, high-energy style. They are going to press the ball and we are going to have to be at our best."
How important can Rhodes be for Blackburn on Wednesday?
Considering the players Blackburn have missing for the game against Derby, Rhodes will absolutely have to be at his best in order for Rovers to pick up all three points.
As the provider of 58% of Blackburn’s goals this season, that will come as no surprise, but it will be a tough ask against what can be considered one of the best centre-back partnerships in the division.
Jason Shackell and Richard Keogh have been in excellent form so far this season, and both will be confident about keeping Rhodes’ impact to a minimum.
If Derby can isolate the former Huddersfield Town man, it would go a long way to ensuring they bring all three points back to the East Midlands.
