Joe Cole made a promising impression on his Coventry City debut.
Joe Cole made his unlikely debut for Coventry City last night in a League One draw with Rochdale.
The former England international has stepped down two divisions to leave Aston Villa on loan simply so he can play regular football.
Cole played for an hour, still short of full match fitness, but showed glimpses of his quality.
And fans of the Sky Blues may get to see it on an even more regular basis after Cole admitted after the game he was open to an extended stay at the club.
Cole's loan is currently set to expire in late November, but he is not ruling anything out.
He told the Coventry Telegraph after the game: "I am building up my fitness and want to give as much as I can to this team.
"I would be very happy to stay here until the end of the season. I’d like to stay here and see it out.
“Sometimes these things are out of your hands but we’ll review things after the next six games and see what happens after the 35 days."
Right now the former West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool attacker is just getting started at Coventry, and appears to have rediscovered an enthusiasm for the game which could have been waning at Aston Villa.
Here is a look at how Coventry fans reacted to seeing Cole in action on his debut...

Great game, should have claimed three points. More importantly, Joe Cole stays he wants to stay for the season. Staggering. #PUSB— Kieran Crowley (@KieranCrowley1) October 20, 2015
Good solid point away from home tonight. Missing Reda and Flecky. Clean sheet and a good hour from Joe Cole. Looking good!— Sean McGinty (@Gint1983) October 20, 2015
