Tottenham Hotspur and Anderlecht go head-to-head this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur turn their attention from domestic matters to European football later this week as they travel to Belgium to take on Anderlecht in the Europa League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side is currently top of Group J after two matches played, having defeated FK Qarabag and drawn with AS Monaco.
At first glance Anderlecht should be relatively easy opponents as they are bottom of the table with just a single point to date, but they are currently third in the Belgian league, just one point off top spot and with some very talented players at their disposal.
Here we take a look at three Anderlecht players Tottenham will have to be very wary of:
Attacking midfielder Dennis Praet is equally comfortable on either wing and he will be one of Anderlecht’s key players later this week.
With nearly 150 matches for the club already under his belt, Praet is both experienced and technically gifted, so Spurs will underestimate him at their peril.
One of the most exciting young players in Belgium right now, 18-year-old midfielder Youri Tielemans is definitely going to be a danger for Tottenham if he features.
He has everything in his locker to be a future superstar and it would be no surprise to see him arriving in the Premier League one day.
Stefano Okaka is a 26-year-old Italian international who took time to get going at Anderlecht following his summer switch from Sampdoria.
However, at the weekend he scored a brace in a 4-1 victory against Zulte-Waregem, suggesting he has well and truly found his feet.
