Steven Taylor: Newcastle United's Moussa Sissoko was unplayable against Norwich

Newcastle United beat Norwich City 6-2 in their latest outing.

Steven Taylor has told Sky Sports' Super Sunday, after Newcastle United's match against Norwich City, that he felt Moussa Sissoko was unstoppable at the weekend.

Sissoko caused carnage as Newcastle beat Norwich 6-2 to pick up their first victory of the Premier League season.

The French midfielder claimed three assists throughout the match, and the injured Taylor was very impressed by his teammate's performance.

"All the way through the game he caused them problems," he said. "His pace, his power, his strength - they couldn't get near him.

"You just can't stop him, he was unplayable today. The balls he was playing through were non-stop, and he was terrorising the Norwich back-four.

"You give him time and space and he can punish you. For me, he was close to man of the match."

Sissoko carved Norwich open time after time, and although Georginio Wijnaldum stole the headlines, after scoring four times, the French international's contribution was hugely important.

It was an example of the sort of standards Sissoko can reach when he is at his very best, but Steve McClaren will need to try and find a way to get the 26-year-old to reach those levels on a more regular basis.

Sissoko has been inconsistent throughout his time at Newcastle, and that has stopped him from becoming a real fans' favourite at St. James' Park.

Newcastle's win over Norwich has lifted them up to 18th place in the Premier League table, with their next fixture coming against derby rivals Sunderland.
