Rio Ferdinand raves about key Swansea and Stoke characteristic on Twitter

The former defender and current pundit was impressed with a specific aspect of both sides.

Rio Ferdinand was impressed with the pace on show from both Swansea City and Stoke City on Monday night.

Indeed, Stoke visited the Liberty Stadium and provided a decent - if not all-too-thrilling - contest.

And Ferdinand likes the speed possessed within both club's line-ups, something Stoke especially haven't exactly been known for over the years.

First off, Ferdinand took to Twitter to praise the likes of Jefferson Montero, Modou Barrow and Andre Ayew of Swansea, suggesting they have pace 'to burn.'

When prompted by a follower to say the same about Stoke, meanwhile, he duly obliged...

Stoke picked up a vital third win in a row at Swansea, with an early Bojan penalty setting the tone for an encounter during which they defended astutely throughout.

The Potters are now up to 11th in the Premier League table, with the Swans a disappointing 14th considering their impressive start to the season.

Next up for Mark Hughes' men is a home clash against Watford, while Swansea travel to Aston Villa. There, Garry Monk will hope for more from his pacey players...
