Lee Erwin was not named among Bury's starters for their clash with Bradford City.
Lee Erwin's tough start to the season has continued, with the striker a notable absence from Bury's latest fixture.
He was not even included on the substitute's bench for this evening's clash with Bradford City, in what would have been his third appearance for the club.
Erwin is into a 28-day loan from Leeds United, where he has failed to make an impression after signing from Motherwell in the summer transfer window.
He took to Twitter ahead of kick-off to explain his absence as being due to illness, admitting his disappointment.
Gutted cant be part of Bradford match , stuck in bed not wells not ideal Hope @buryfcofficial get the 3 points— Lee Erwin (@LeeErwin19) October 20, 2015
Erwin is yet to feature for the Leeds first team, but will be hoping to use his spell at Bury to make an impression.
Leeds fired head coach Uwe Rosler on Monday and appointed Steve Evans in his place, and the change of manager could work in Erwin's favour upon his return.
A goal or two will do his case wonders, and the forward will hope to have made a full recovery for the visit to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon.
