HITC Sport understands a number of clubs are tracking Colchester United midfielder George Moncur.
A host of Championship sides are keeping tabs on highly-rated Colchester United star George Moncur, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Moncur has been in stunning form for Colchester this season, scoring five goals in 14 appearances for the League One club and he was named League One Player of the Month for September.
The 22-year-old's form has not gone unnoticed by clubs higher up the football pyramid with Moncur establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders outside the top two divisions.
Moncur, who came through the youth ranks at West Ham United after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, made just two first-team appearances for the Hammers during his seven years at Upton Park.
The former England Under-18 international is the son of former Tottenham and West Ham midfielder John Moncur.
Moncur is a big fans' favourite at Colchester after scoring the crucial winning goal in the victory over Preston last season, which secured the club's survival in League One.
The skilful midfielder is under contract at the Colchester Community Stadium until 2017, but the U's are aware of the growing interest in Moncur and are bracing themselves for interest in the player in January.
