The midfielder was in fine form for the Magpies as he laid on the assists for his teammates.
With Georginio Wijnaldum’s four goals in the 6-2 win over Norwich sure to grab the headlines, the performances of the rest of the squad may be somewhat forgotten.
However, one performance that should not be ignored is that of midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who was in the kind of form that made him a firm fan favourite when he first joined the Magpies.
The Frenchman has struggled for that kind of form in recent times, but was back to his best as Steve McClaren’s side put on a fine display to secure their first win of the season.
We decided to take a look at his stats to see just how well he performed in the game.
|Match||Goal Assist||Total Att Assist||Ontarget Att Assist||Pass Success||Final Third Passes Success||Dribbling Success||Touch Success|
|Moussa Sissoko||Newcastle vs Norwich||3||4||4||38||21||11||62|
First and foremost was his number of assists in the game, as he registered three in total. What is most impressive is however is that he only attempted four all game, with all of them being on target.
To put his assists into context, he is only the second player in Newcastle's history to register three in a game, making the feat all the more impressive.
Aside from assisting, his passing in the game was also on form as he enjoyed a passing success of 81% throughout the game, while his passing in the final third was even better as he registered an 85% success in that area.
Elsewhere, his dribbling was solid with a success rate of 54% in that area, while his touches were much more impressive with him failing to make an unsuccessful one all game.
So then, an all round impressive performance from Moussa Sissoko for Newcastle, who will be hoping can put in these type of performances more often given his importance to the side.
