Southampton and Leicester City played out a 2-2 draw at the weekend.
Maya Yoshida has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at missing out on playing in Southampton's match against Leicester City on Saturday, as he wanted to test himself against Shinji Okazaki.
Okazaki played the first 45 minutes for Leicester in the match, and Yoshida was desperate to play against his international teammate.
However, the centre-back was brought only brought on after an hour had been played, with Ronald Koeman preferring Virgil Van Dijk and Jose Fonte to start with.
It was a disappointment for Yoshida, but he did at least have time to catch-up with his friend after the match, and he posted a picture of them together on social networking site Twitter.
Southampton's match with Leicester finished as a 2-2 draw, and Yoshida will have been disappointed to not have helped his team hold on for the three points.
The Saints had taken a two-goal lead in the fixture, but they failed to hold on, with two Jamie Vardy strikes denying them of the three points.
The draw leaves Southampton in eighth place in the Premier League table, while Leicester occupy fifth spot.
