Cole headed to Coventry at the end of last week, joining on a short-term loan deal from Aston Villa, and he has been pictured in his first training session with the League One side.
Tony Mowbray’s men currently sit fifth place in the League One table, with 23 points from 12 games, and Cole travelled the short distance from Villa Park to the Ricoh Arena on a short term loan.
He will add attacking intelligence and a creative spark to their side, and it is almost unbelievable that the former England international is currently with the club.
He may be past his best, and at 33-years-old in the final stages of his career, but there is no doubting Cole’s talent, and considering Aston Villa’s struggles this season, it is a surprise that Tim Sherwood has not utilised him this term in the Premier League.
But Villa’s loss is Coventry’s gain, and many fans cannot wait to see the stylish attacking midfielder make his debut for the side.
Having now started training with the squad, Cole is in line to make his debut for the League One side this week, when Coventry travel to Rochdale on Tuesday evening. He may still not be at a good enough fitness level to start, but it would be no surprise to see the ageing star come off the bench for his League One debut.
