The Newcastle United player is already looking ahead to their next game despite their 6-2 weekend victory.
The Magpies finally got their first league win of the season in dramatic fashion at the weekend, beating Norwich City 6-2 in an absolutely wonderful match.
The result eases the pressure on Newcastle manager Steve McClaren but he will know this is only the first step on a long journey, and if he can defeat Sunderland the good times will certainly be back at St James’ Park.
Dummett played 65 minutes against Norwich in what was his first appearance of the season after recovering from a hamstring injury.
His return is a huge boost for a side that need all the quality defenders they can get given their recent struggles, and the 24-year-old has now refocused and is aiming for three more points when Newcastle take on their fierce rivals Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
“We go again Sunday,” Dummett wrote on Monday afternoon, and it is that focus that will be required if Newcastle are to continue their climb up the table in the coming weeks.
