Nacer Chadli was taken off in the eighth minute of Tottenham’s game against Liverpool.
Chadli was substituted off by Mauricio Pochettino in the eighth minute of the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, and he has taken to Twitter to send a message of thanks to the Tottenham fans.
There are no indications as to how long the Belgian international will be out of action for, although a report in Sky Sports suggested it could have been potential ligament damage, leading to a potentially lengthy absence.
Prior to his injury, Chadli had played every single one of Tottenham’s Premier League games this season, only missing one game in all competitions - having sat out of the Europa League victory over Qarabag.
His form has not been particularly excellent, and he has only managed one goal and two assists in his 11 games, but Pochettino is clearly a big fan of the 26-year-old.
Clinton N’Jie was brought on to replace Chadli when he was taken off, and it is likely the young summer signing will be pushed into the starting XI as his starting replacement from now on.
Chadli will be hoping that his injury does not keep him out of action for too long, and he has vowed to come back stronger when he returns to match action with Spurs.
