Sebastien Squillaci was branded a flop after three disastrous seasons with Arsenal but apparently people in glasshouses do throw stones.
Say the name Sebastien Squillaci to most Gunners fans and the chances are they will shudder or simply shake their heads.
Signed from Sevilla for £4 million in the summer of 2010, the Frenchman arrived at the Emirates with quite the reputation having played an important part in AS Monaco’s progress to the final of the Champions League in 2004.
But it became apparent that Squillaci was not cut out for life in the Premier League and after one error-strewn season in the first-team, he became something of a fringe player with new signing Per Mertesacker taking his place.
Released after his contract expired in the summer of 2013, Squillaci signed for Bastia in Ligue 1 where he has been ever since.
So when Paris Saint-German visited the Corsican club last weekend, the 35-year-old made himself something of a social media hit after he was captured on camera imparting some “wisdom” to Ibrahimovic at the final whistle.
According to Marca, the defender told Zlatan:
“You are a s***, you are not a great player, you have no respect for others, you should show respect.”
While his words are likely to have come after 90 minutes of back and forth between the pair, they were made to look slightly ridiculous given that Ibrahimovic had just scored a match-winning brace in a 2-0 win.
