David Gold says James Collins was immense against Crystal Palace

West Ham United defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to James Collins’s performance against Crystal Palace away from home on Saturday afternoon.

Collins started the Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Hammers registered a 3-1 victory over 10-man Palace.

The Wales international defender had a pass accuracy of 79%, attempted one dribble, won 100% of his tackles and 50% of his headers, and made one interception and four clearances.

West Ham co-chairman Gold was impressed with the performance of the 32-year-old centre-back and spoke highly of him on Twitter.

West Ham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from nine matches, just four points behind leaders Manchester City.

The Hammers will take on Chelsea at the Boleyn Ground in the league next weekend.
