Craig Armstrong suggests Nottingham Forest are missing Andy Reid

Nottingham Forest’s recent performances in the Championship have not been great.

Former Sheffield Wednesday defender Craig Armstrong has suggested on BBC Radio Nottingham that Nottingham Forest are missing midfielder Andy Reid.

The former Forest defender made the comments during the Reds’ defeat to Bristol City away from home in the Championship on Friday evening.

Reid has yet to feature in the Championship this season due to injury, and the 33-year-old Republic of Ireland international was not available for the game against City at the Ashton Gate Stadium.

Forest were expected to win with ease, but they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Steve Cotterill’s side.

The Reds are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 12 points from 11 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.

Dougie Freedman’s side will take on Burnley at the City Ground in the league on Tuesday evening.

It is a game that Forest need to win to maintain their chances of a top-six finish in the Championship this season.
