West Ham and Arsenal stars Premier League’s most creative players on Saturday

Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil were outstanding on Saturday.

West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil topped the Premier League charts on Saturday for the most chances created

The Gunners had to bide their time in order to get the better of Watford, surviving heavy pressure in the opening period before notching three goals in 11 second-half minutes.

Ozil was instrumental in their attacking forays, picking up the ball through the middle and tormenting the hosts with a number of successful take-ons and slide-rule passes.

Dimitri Payet West Ham 6 90
Mesut Özil Arsenal 6 81

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, the Germany international contributed with as many as six key passes – a tally only matched by West Ham’s Dimitri Payet.

Of his six chances created, Ozil picked up two assists which earned him the Man of the Match award. The former Real Madrid man now has a team-high six assists for the season.

Anything Ozil can do, West Ham’s attacking midfield Payet can match as the France international also posted six key passes as well as rounding off victory with another goal.

Since joining from Marseille, the 28-year-old has been in sensational form, and all the flak he received over his switch to East London can now be de deemed wholly unjust.

The Hammers defeated London rivals Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park, their fourth away win of the season.

There are seemingly no limits to what Slaven Bilic’s side can achieve this season, especially if they can keep Payet fit and provide him with enough service to wreak havoc in the final third.

The talented playmaker now has five goals and three assists in nine Premier League starts.
