Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo on creating history at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo broke Raul’s Madrid record at the weekend when he scored against Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga.
The Portugal international found the target in the 30th minute of the encounter on Saturday, as Rafael Benitez’s side won 3-0.
The strike meant that Ronaldo is now officially Madrid’s all-time top scorer with 324 goals in 310 games.
It is astonishing achievement, and the 30-year-old’s former United teammate, Rooney, perfectly understands that.
Ronaldo joined Spanish giants Madrid from United in the summer of 2009 and has been a huge success in La Liga.
The former Sporting Lisbon man was on the books of the Red Devils for six years between 2003 and 2009.
During his time at Old Trafford, Ronaldo won the Premier League title three times and the Champions League once.
So far at Madrid, the Portuguese forward has won La Liga and the Champions League once each.
