Report: Leicester lining up major offer for Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford

Leicester City - King Power Stadium

Leicester City are reportedly interested in Sunderland-owned Preston North End goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Leicester City are interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Leicester are lining up a major offer for the 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Championship outfit Preston North End.

The Sun claims that Premier League trio Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also interested in the England Under-21 international.

However, according to the report, United, Spurs and Villa see Pickford as a player for the future, while Premier League rivals Leicester could provide him with immediate Premier League football.

Leicester are reportedly worried that they will have to sell first-choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the January transfer window or next summer.

The Sun also claims that Foxes “scout David Mills is a big fan of Pickford and keen to get him for around £3million.”

Pickford is a very good and talented young goalkeeper, and Sunderland should do their utmost to hold onto him.
