Report: Charlie Austin will leave QPR next summer

Sunderland are reportedly interested in Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.

Charlie Austin will leave Queens Park Rangers at the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that the English forward will turn down all Premier League interest in the January transfer window and remain at QPR for the rest of the 2015-16 campaign.

However, according to The Mirror, the 26-year-old will leave Rangers next summer when his current contract with the Championship club runs out.

The Mirror has also claimed that Sunderland are interested in signing Austin in the January transfer window, but QPR want to keep him until next summer as they believe that he can guide them to Premier League promotion.

Austin was arguably Rangers’ best player in the Premier League last season, scoring 18 goals and creating 23 chances in 35 league appearances.

The former Burnley striker is injured at the moment, but his 2015-16 Championship record reads seven goals scored and 13 chances created in nine matches.
