Even without Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Sergio Aguero, Manchester City steamrollered their way past Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues were missing their three biggest stars as the injury-ravaged Cherries arrived at the Etihad Stadium for a daunting task - but those absences didn't matter for City as Raheem Sterling stole the show.
With three goals, Sterling was in top form against Bournemouth, and striker Wilfried Bony added the other two as City coasted to a 5-1 victory.
Sterling, 20, entered the season with plenty of questions to answer. City forked out £49m to sign Sterling from Liverpool this summer, as reported by The Telegraph, and many saw that as an astronomical fee to pay for such a young, relatively unproven player.
With just one goal for City before his display against Bournemouth, those doubts remained prominent amongst fans and pundits - but he proved what he can do in front of goal on Saturday.
City fans took to Twitter after the game in order to discuss Sterling's performance, with virtually all supporters lauding his display - even poking fun at Liverpool, given that they drew 0-0 with Tottenham just hours before Sterling's first half hat-trick.
Here are some of the reactions from Manchester City fans on Twitter following Sterling's performance against Bournemouth...
He put three defenders on the floor before finishing. He's sometimes criticised for a lack of composure, but that was excellent.— Rob (@RobPollard_) October 17, 2015

Sterling could, no SHOULD, have bagged 5 or 6 goals today and shut his detractors up once and for all. #mcfc— MCFC World (@MCFCworld) October 17, 2015
