Brighton players react to victory against Leeds United

Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United went head-to-head on Saturday.

Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Leeds United 2-1 on Saturday and some of the Championship leaders’ players were quick to celebrate on social media after the game.

Brighton took the lead through Solly March in the 14th minute but Liam Cooper replied for Leeds midway through the first half and for a long time thereafter it looked like the sides would share a point apiece.

Chris Wood had a great chance to win it for Leeds but he inexplicably missed with a close-range header and Leeds were left to rue that opportunity when Bobby Zamora scored with just a minute remaining.

The win means Brighton are now four points clear at the top of the table while Leeds are down to 18th, with lots of work to do to turn things round.

Some of the Brighton players later had their say, with Inigo Calderon praising Elland Road while suggesting that as good as it was to play there, it was even better to get the three points.

Beram Kayal and Kazenga LuaLua also celebrated an impressive and hard-fought triumph with the latter praising Zamora for his dramatic late strike.
