Report suggests how Brendan Rodgers feels about becoming next Aston VIlla manager

Brendan Rodgers reportedly isn't interested in the Aston Villa job.

According to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers isn't interested in taking over at Aston Villa, should Tim Sherwood lose his job in the coming weeks.

Rodgers, 42, is out of work having parted ways with Liverpool two weeks ago, with Jurgen Klopp replacing him in the Anfield dugout.

The new favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go is Aston Villa's Tim Sherwood, who has guided his team to just one Premier League win this season - and that came all the way back on the opening weekend of the season, with a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Some Villa fans are calling for Sherwood to be sacked, and many also want Rodgers to be hired as his replacement, due to his impressive record with Swansea City, and the fact that he almost won the Premier League title with Liverpool just 18 months ago.

However, the Daily Star report that Rodgers isn't interested in the Villa job even if Sherwood does receive the sack, with the Northern Irishman looking to take a lengthy break from football, before assessing offers and opportunities next summer.

If Villa do look to move on from Sherwood in the near future, they may have to look elsewhere, with Rodgers seemingly keen to take a lengthy break from management right now.
