Michael Owen has picked Mamadou Sakho and Lucas Leiva as Liverpool’s two best players against Tottenham Hotspur on Sportlobster.com.
The former Liverpool striker was impressed with the duo’s performance in the Premier League game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
“Not the greatest of games but I reckon Klopp will be pretty happy with that,” Owen wrote on Sportlobster.com. “Sakho and Lucas the pick of the bunch for me.”
Sakho started the game against Spurs in North London and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it ended in a goalless draw.
The France international central defender had a pass accuracy of 88%, won 60% of his headers, and made two interceptions, nine clearances and two blocks.
Brazil international defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva also played for the entire 90 minutes and gave a good account of himself against Tottenham.
The 28-year-old took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 77%, won 56% of his tackles and 67% of the headers, and made one interception and one clearance.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at White Hart Lane, Liverpool had 52% of the possession, took 12 shots of which just three were on target, earned six corners.
