Keith Gillespie was not impressed with Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren’s comments on Thursday.

Keith Gillespie has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren’s comments in a press conference on Thursday.

McClaren rued the injury to goalkeeper Tim Krul which will keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

“He's a vital player, very important, and he'd get us 18 or 20 points a season with the way he plays,” quotes the former Nottingham Forest boss as saying.

The Englishman also said, as reported by The Shields Gazette, that he is not looking at the Premier League table at the moment.

Former Newcastle winger Gillespie has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to McClaren’s comments.

Newcastle are still searching for their first win of the season, having made a terrible start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.

The Magpies are at the foot of the table at the moment with just three points from eight matches.

Newcastle will take on Norwich City at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday and will be determined to pick up all three points.
