The former Liverpool boss has been discussing the new Liverpool boss.
Indeed, the Frenchman feels Klopp liked the Anfield outfit and appreciated their values before agreeing to become the new Liverpool manager.
Houllier is quoted as telling beIN Sports by the Echo: "Well, since they decided to part company with Brendan Rodgers, I think they would be looking for a different type of management.
"And I’m glad that Jurgen has joined Liverpool because I know he’s very keen on Liverpool, he likes the club, he likes the values of the club and I think he would bring a lot to it."
There has naturally been plenty of talk about how Klopp will fare at Liverpool going into his first Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.
But it'll soon be time for that talking to stop and we will see how the German does indeed fare at Anfield. Even if the Reds end up losing at any point, Klopp's impact will likely be seen through his expressive gestures and charisma on the touchline.
Whether the German will succeed at Liverpool long term is, of course, impossible to say. But, unlike with the Brendan Rodgers appointment, FSG have taken the most obvious route to trying to find success: employ a manager regarded by most as world class and someone who all the biggest clubs in the world would hire if given the chance.
