Former Nottingham Forest defender Craig Armstrong has harsh words for current centre-backs

Nottingham Forest 2

The performances of Jack Hobbs and Kelvin Wilson could have been better last night.

Nottingham Forest went down 2-0 to Bristol City last night. Dougie Freedman's men would have been hoping to get a three point haul from the fixture considering that The Robins were sitting bottom of the table before the start of play.

But a brace from Aaron Wilbraham saw Bristol take the win at Ashton Gate - much to the frustration of Forest fans and players.

In fairness, Forest did not play that bad, but they were caught napping twice and the veteran striker took full advantage.

Two men who came in for specific criticism were Jack Hobbs and Kelvin Wilson. The experienced centre-back pairing did not put in their best performance for the club and at times looked stagnant and sloppy..

Former Nottingham Forest defender Craig Armstong, who now works as a development coach at the team, was on co-commentary for the game with BBC Nottingham Sport and he was not impressed - stating:

"The experience of Hobbs and Wilson shouldn't let him (Wilbraham) have that space.

"They're trying to overload at the back stick and at the moment they're causing Forest problems."

Forest again looked half decent in this fixture but lacked the bite and cutting edge necessary to claim anything from their trip to the south-west.

Forest are now four games without a win in the Championship and must buck up their ideas soon to stop the slide.
